Greetings!

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sam Ball, and I am the pastor of the Rio Grande Full Gospel Church located about 3.5 miles east of Sandcut and one mile south of Fontanet on the Rio Grande Road.

Reverend Jesse W. Ball, my father, founded our church in 1974. Dad passed away in 1979, and I accepted the call upon my life and became the pastor of the church, and have been here ever since.

Born and raised in Clinton, Indiana, I have lived in this area for all but seven years of my life. I semi-retired this year after teaching high school mathematics for 39 years. I also coached basketball and softball teams at Riverton Parke High School from 1986 to 2001. My hobbies include helping my daughter coach her high school  softball team and playing golf.

I am married to MaDonna (Taylor) Ball who grew up in Fontanet and graduated from Garfield High School and Indiana State University, and is a high school business teacher at Turkey Run High School. She is also our music director and organist at the church.

We have two grown daughters, both of whom live in Avon and Plainfield. The oldest is the director of human resources for the Bentcil Co in Avon, and the youngest is a teacher of high school business and the varsity softball coach at Mooresville High School.

I have told you a little about myself so that I could invite you to visit our church family at Rio Grande. We have a great group of loving and caring people from many walks of life, including truck drivers, Wal-Mart employees, retired schoolteachers, sheet metal workers, retired Air National Guard people, Purdue extension employees, ISU employees, computer whizzes, morticians, auto mechanics, homemakers, and a few students from the area school systems.

If you do not have a church home, and hunger for a reality of God through Jesus Christ His Son, then I would invite you to visit. We have no dress code and blue jeans are as common as three-piece suits or leather vests, so just come as you are. Just as in Jesus’ ministry, all may come to seek Him without regard to social standings or attire.

I wish I could tell you that we here at Rio Grande are a “perfect” people, but we are not. We are an “imperfect" people resting in the spiritual perfection that only Christ can give. We are people like you, living in a rough and trying world, but the peace and joy and salvation that Jesus offers helps us to  “make it” in this world.

We welcome you to our services and fellowship.

May God richly bless you and your family.

In Christ’s Name

Sam Ball, pastor
